The Score

Posted on Wed, Jun 17, 2009 at 4:00 AM

0 With more than half the vote, Creigh Deeds clobbers the two other Democratic primary candidates, setting himself up to face Republican Bob McDonnell in the governor's race. Virginians can't wait to start following it all in November.

+4 A launch party for GayRVA.com draws a packed, diverse and rowdy crowd to New York Deli to celebrate the new local blog. Same location, different night, a smaller crowd gathered for the new Jewish-themed blog, OyVeyRVA.com.

+3 Local Facebook devotees stay up late for a national countdown to midnight to claim a personalized URL for their pages. The war against anonymity continues! And if you think sexy geeks just can't throw down, do a little Google searchin' for OMGWTFRVA.

-2 NBC12 is flooded with calls from people confused and bewildered about the transition to digital TV. But after several explanations, a Venn diagram, an FCC audio guide on phonograph and an in-home tutorial, Gene Cox finally got it.

+1 Alternative rock station Y101 prepares to celebrate its 10th anniversary July 17 while announcing a change on the dial from 101.1-FM to 100.9-FM the same day. Between this and the digital TV thing, maybe it's easier to just curl up with a Kindle.
