+5Gov. Kaine puts Obama campaigning on hold to walk the red carpet with Tom Hanks at the premiere of HBO's "John Adams" at the Byrd Theatre. Kaine's suspicious appearance wearing a blond wig sparks Hollywood rumors that Hanks is considering a new version of "Bosom Buddies."

-1A Ukrop's on West Broad is evacuated when a lone bag is found near an entrance. Police determine it's not filled with explosives, only cans of beer. Police later "discover" a bag of Hooters wings, "liberate" a carton of Marlboros and "secure" a tailgate party.

+1Some of the Henrico County skies play host to the 10th annual Kite Festival at Dorey Park. Unfortunately, many people were unable to attend because it conflicted with the 12th annual Go Jump in a Lake Jamboree.

-3A judge declares a second mistrial of John Bradley Crawford, who was being tried on charges of abduction and murder in the 27-year-old slaying of 6-year-old Alexander Glanz. Hanover courts' new motto: "Justice, there's no hurry."

0Mayor Doug Wilder fills in for morning radio host Jimmy Barrett on WRVA, interspersing boasts of his administration's success with traffic and weather. Oh, and if you won the lottery after hearing Wilder read the numbers, he's taking credit for that, too.
