The Score

Posted on Wed, May 13, 2009 at 4:00 AM

+4 Facebook, Twitter and social-media enthusiasts get out from behind their computers to launch a Richmond chapter of the Social Media Club. Come to think of it, in an era of spreading swine flu, isn't Twitter our only hope?

-3 Richmond experiences at least six straight days of rain, with more in the forecast at press time. Must be swine flu.

-1 A 100-plus-year-old sorority at Longwood College shuts down, the T-D reports, after allegations of hazing. Now who will keep those ancient traditions of forced Jell-O shots alive?

-4 Chesterfield spent millions to make the massive Magnolia Green subdivision happen, and then it went bankrupt. Now they call it Magnolia Red.

+5 Freedom of expression wins out, and the city gives a Shockoe Bottom strip-club owner permission to keep his giant anti-ballpark sign since it's considered a political campaign sign. The anti-ballpark pasties on the dancers? Part of a Political Action Committee.
