Updated: First Shows Announced for Renovated Ashland Theatre

Also Innsbrook After Hours announces season will kick off with Lady Antebellum.

UPDATE: Due to unforeseen circumstances, No BS! Brass is postponing their debut at the Ashland Theatre until later in the year. The Trongone Band will perform instead on March 1, having just recorded their sophomore album produced by Widespread Panic bassist and Central-Virginia native, Dave Schools. Concert time and ticket prices remain the same, according to a press release from the venue.

The Ashland Theatre and the Broadberry Entertainment Group have announced that the first music shows at the renovated theater will take place on March 1 and 2, and feature the Trongone Band and American Aquarium respectively.

“Bringing live music performances to Ashland Theatre has been part of our dream for this space since our renovations began two years ago,” says Douglas Love, President and CEO of the Ashland Theatre Foundation, in a press release. “With state-of-the-art lighting and audio, a newly expanded stage and dressing rooms, we are thrilled to welcome these talented musicians to our venue in March.

“The intimate atmosphere at the newly renovated Ashland Theatre will offer a very special experience for both artists and concert-goers alike,” adds Lucas Fritz of Broadberry Entertainment Group in the release. “The box seats and options for the first two rows will allow fans to see their favorite acts up close and personal.”

The Trongone show on Friday, March 1 will start at 7:30 p.m. and tickets range from $20 to $40. On Saturday, March 2, the folk-infused Southern rock of American Aquarium also begins at 7:30 p.m. and tickets range from $18 to $40.

Tickets for both shows go on sale Friday, Jan. 25 at 10:00 am with a pre-sale the same day starting at 9:00 am for Ashland Theatre members. You can purchase online at or at the The Broadberry’s box office (2729 W. Broad St.), Monday-Friday from 10:00 am – 4:30 pm.

According to the release: "Each show at the Ashland Theatre will offer a variety of seating options including box seats, premiere front row, and general admission. Limited box seats will be available for each show to include reserved balcony seating and a private lounge with beer, wine, specialty cocktails and concessions."

Another concert series,Innsbrook After Hours announced that it is kicking off its 2019 season with the country music band from Nashville, Lady Antebellum at the Servpro Richmond Pavilion on May 4.

According to a release, tickets go on sale Friday, Jan. 25, at 10 a.m. at or by phone at (800) 514-3849. Also, a limited early bird tickets will be available for one week only the cost of $26 per ticket.
