Henrico's Beth Royals has won the $1 million prize for the 47th Pillsbury Bake-Off contest this year.

"I competed against 100 other home cooks (who were chosen from hundreds of thousands of recipes)," Royals says.

"I won my category (simply sweet treats) with Peanutty Pie Crust Clusters, and the judges said they felt I used pie crust in a way that hasn't been done before." She cut pie crust dough into small squares, baked them and turned it all into white chocolate-peanut butter drop candy.

She competed against three finalists to win the grand prize.

Intrigued by her winning recipe? Here's a link to it if you'd like to try your hand.
