2013 Monument Avenue 10-K

Saturday, April 13. 8:30 a.m. $45 to run.

USA Today has named the Monument Avenue 10-K, one of Richmond’s largest running events, as one of the country’s 10 great road races. That’s alongside the likes of the Boston, Chicago and San Francisco marathons. The 6.21-mile race takes runners down historic Monument Avenue while thousands of fans cheer from the sidelines. With more than 40,000 participants, costumed teams, spirit groups, party stops and bands performing at various spots, Monument Avenue turns into one giant, sweaty party. Expect a lot of fun and try to avoid the masses if you’re driving close to the action. The Monument Avenue 10-K starts at Broad and Harrison streets on Saturday, April 13, at 8:30 a.m. $45 to run. sportsbackers.org/events/monument-avenue-10k.
