14th Annual Theater Awards (“Artsies”) Winners Announced

Swift Creek Mill and Virginia Rep sweep the night with six awards for “Murder for Two” and five for “Mamma Mia!”

The 14th annual Richmond Theatre Community Circle Awards (“Artsies”), formerly known as the Richmond Theatre Critics Circle Awards, took place last weekend with a theme of “We’re Still Here” reflecting the resilience of local arts and arts organizations that made it through a global pandemic.

The Artsies are the primary fundraising event for the Theatre Artist Fund of Greater Richmond (Fund), which provides emergency financial assistance to theater artists and has raised nearly $90,000 for the fund during its history — while writing 21 grants worth $30,468 for artists in need, according to a press release.
