The late E. Claiborne Robins' 53-year-old philanthropic foundation still runs strong, and you can bet plenty of requests rolled in for the most recent July 14 grant-proposal deadline. The family, whose most visible local member is E. Claiborne Robins Jr., will see its name splashed across the University of Richmond's new on-campus football stadium this fall as a salute to its history with the university. Robins, who runs E. C. Robins International, backs the Richmond chapter of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and the Maymont Foundation, and serves on the board of the Virginia Historical Society.
