Pianist and composer Yanni is known throughout the world as one of the most successful composers and musicians. His live performances have entertained more than 500 million people in more than 140 countries. He’s earned Grammy nominations for his 1992 album, “Dare to Dream” and 1993’s “In My Time,” but his biggest success came with the release of “Yanni Live at the Acropolis,” which peaked at No. 1 on “Billboard’s Top New Age Albums chart and at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart. A live television special also became the biggest fundraiser for PBS. Along with numerous tours, Yanni also has been busy in the studio recording numerous albums, including 2010’s “Yanni Mexicanisimo,” 2011’s “Truth of Touch” — the No. 1 top-selling new age album of that year — and most recently a CD-DVD album, “Yanni Live at El Morro, Puerto Rico,” which began airing on PBS earlier this year. Experience more when Yanni performs at Richmond CenterStage on Wednesday, June 6, at 7:30 p.m. $67-$127. 800-514-3849.
