As night falls at the Camel, the monsters come out to play a benefit for WRIR-FM 97.3 with costumes and not-so-scary music. The Monster Mashquerade features live performances by the Eurotics, Goldrush and a reunited Red Hot Lava Men, who bring their instrumental surf music out of hibernation for a one-night-only performance. Richmond Independent Radio’s Michael Miracle of “The Lotus Land Show” and Melissa, host of “Mercury Falls,” will DJ between sets. Prizes awarded for the best costumes and masks. The WRIR Monster Mashquerade takes place at the Camel on Friday, Oct. 26, at 9 p.m. $5-$10 suggested donation. wrir.org.
