Brooklyn outfit The World/Inferno Friendship Society has a style that merges punk, soul and jazz and a collective membership that includes horns and piano. The ensemble, which has more than 30 members (only seven to 10 perform at a time), includes former members of Eve’s Plum, Blues Traveler and ’80s hit band Dexy’s Midnight Runners. With subjects as wide-ranging as politics, historical figures and party anthems, recent releases from the band include 2011’s “The Anarchy and the Ecstasy” and a three-song EP released this year with a comic book titled “Turnstile Comix #2.” The World/Inferno Friendship Society performs at the Camel on Tuesday, March 26, at 7 p.m. $10. thecamel.org.
