Lo-fi, folk-rock band Woods formed in Brooklyn in 2005, and seemingly like all bands from Brooklyn, Woods’ music quickly made its way around the country, receiving accolades from fans and critics. Pitchfork Media even named the band’s 2010 album “At Echo Lake” one of the best of the year. With its sixth release, “Sun and Shade,” out earlier this year, Woods takes folk rock and shimmering, happy pop and turns it into something completely fresh. Their fans can’t get enough of it. Come hear why when Woods performs at Strange Matter on Friday, Dec. 16, at 10 p.m. $10. 447-4763.
