Singer and songwriter Will Hoge left his home in Tennessee to make a name for himself by blending soulful Americana and heartland rock ’n’ roll. After trying to establish himself with his debut, “Carousel,” Hoge persevered through a relentless tour schedule and a string of independent releases for many years before 2009 saw the release of his popular studio album, “The Wreckage.” Along with its hit single “Even If It Breaks Your Heart,” that album brought Hoge into the spotlight. He’s opened shows for Sugarland, Shinedown and Michelle Branch, and his music videos have appeared in heavy rotation on both VH1 and CMT. Hoge’s appropriately titled seventh album, “Number Seven,” was released in September 2011. Will Hoge performs at the Canal Club on Wednesday, Oct. 3, at 7 p.m. $12-$15. thecanalclub.com.
