Because life does in fact exist outside Richmond city limits, and because road tripping with friends always leads to a good time, the Set List presents its new calendar item highlighting the best of the week's live music in Elsewheresville, Va. Kicking things off is Wild Nothing. Led by singer and songwriter Jack Tatum, who got his start performing around Blacksburg while attending Virginia Tech, this shoe-gaze-influenced quartet thrives in washed-out synth pop, bringing incomprehensible vocals, dreamy reverb and glimmering melodies through its recently released debut, “Gemini.” Supplying plenty of '80s introspection and songcraft, Wild Nothing performs at the College of William and Mary on Friday, Oct. 1, at 5 p.m. at the Sandler Center.
