White Laces burst onto the Richmond scene in 2011 with a refined brand of psychedelic noise rock. With its successful self-titled release, the band found itself playing high-profile gigs, including the RVA Music Fest, and is in regular rotation at venues such as Strange Matter and Gallery5. After some split EPs with bands such as the Snowy Owls and Arches, the band is preparing to release its new album, “Moves.” The first single, “Crawl/Collapse,” is a well-crafted indie-pop song, leaving fans ready to hear more. White Laces perform at their record release party at Balliceaux on Friday, Aug. 17, at 10 p.m. Free. balliceauxrva.com.
