If there’s a Richmond band I’d like to see more often, it’s Warren Hixson. I’ve listened to its 2013 release “Hawaiian Underwear” again and again. But as good as it is — it was by far my favorite local release of that year — nothing compares to seeing the band live. After a long period of inactivity, the group plays its first show in many a moon on Monday, Nov. 24, at Sound of Music Recording Studios. Warren Hixson’s hook-laden, garage surf rock is a thing of noisy beauty, and I hope this return is just the beginning of more shows to come. Also performing is new Richmond trio Lady God and lo-fi rockers the Beat Awfuls from Lexington, Kentucky. Doors open at 8 p.m. Admission is $8. soundofmusicrva.com.
