Project Wing tests a cargo-toting drone in California.

Richmond may have endless takeout options, but none of them have delivery quite like this.

As reported by Bloomberg, Project Wing, a Google sideproject will be testing drone delivery of food via three-way team-up with Virginia Tech and Chipotle.

The plan is to dispatch the flying burritos from a Chipotle food truck, testing the drones' navigation and food-handling skills in the process.

So yes, late-night on-demand cookies are a god-send, but can they really compare to drunkenly ordering cheesy, gooey carnitas and having it delivered via flying robot? If all goes well in Blacksburg, maybe we'll all get to find out one day.
