It's always refreshing to know that despite the economy being a black hole of unemployment, creative types are still scrounging up what little dollars and cents they have to make something with more personal fulfillment than financial return. Such is the case with anyone involved with the annual Virginia Indie Fest film selections, scheduled to be shown this weekend at the Byrd Theatre. Among the films being screened are “Beardo the Movie,” a documentary covering the 2009 World Beard and Moustache Championships and the men behind the facial hair; “Caution Wet Floor,” (pictured) a short about the dangers of being a corporate executive; and “Danger. Zombies. Run.”, a metareferencing comedy about the crew members of a low-budget zombie flick getting attacked by … zombies. Documentaries are scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 26, from 1-4 p.m.; shorts from 4-6 p.m.; and feature-length films Sunday, Feb. 27, 4:30-8:30 p.m. $7-$14. For information visit
