Marie Digby charmed cyberspace last year with her acoustic rendition of Rhianna's R&B smash, "Umbrella," made famous by homemade video. That clip, and others of the singer performing her versions of pop hits, garnerned more than 2.3 million views on YouTube.com. Then came the Wall Street Journal article. Turns out Digby isn't a struggling singer, she's an artist on Hollywood Records. According to the WSJ, the label devised her Internet marketing campaign, helping her choose which songs to cover and sending digital copies to iTunes and radio stations. Maybe she's not the girl you thought she was, but it's nearly impossible to look into those eyes and deny her a second chance. Digby performs with Eric Hutchinson June 2 at 7 p.m at The National. $12. 612-1900.
