Behind the scenes at the first Virginia gubernatorial debate.

Lighting and sound checks. Hovering campaign consultants. We were there for the political theater of the first debate between Virginia's two candidates for governor on July 25, 2009, at the Homestead Resort in Hot Springs, Va. Host and sponsor was the Virginia Bar Association. Through Style Weekly's VirginiaTalks.com project, which produced a broadcast of the debate, Editor in Chief Jason Roop kept a behind-the-scenes video journal.
