Vetiver at the Camel

After spending last year paying homage to their Americana influences with a series of cover releases (including the full-length “Thing of the Past” and EP “More of the Past”), singer and songwriter Andy Cabic and his revolving accomplices in Vetiver returned to work on their first proper album since 2006's “To Find Me Gone.” The resulting effort, “Tight Knit,” is nothing short of a cool breeze on a hazy summer day, ambling along at a pace that never feels like it has to be somewhere at a designated time. Nestling early '70s country inflections with Cabic's own pastorally woozy folk, this group's untroubled awesomeness comes to the Camel on Friday, May 8 at 7:30 p.m. $10. 353-4901.
