“Undiscovered” at Gallery Flux

July 10 through July 26.

“Undiscovered” isn’t your typical suburban group art show. Why? Because it’s a suburban group art show worth seeing. I’m joking, of course, but the varied body of work collected in the juried exhibition is truly impressive. From Mel Titus’ earthy stoneware to Alice Anne Ellis’ weeping abstractions, the exhibit covers a wide range of styles and expressions in sculpture, photography and painting by regional artists not in Art in America. Will any of them become household names? Probably not, but no matter how good your work may be, you have a better chance of getting hit by lightning after winning the lottery on your birthday than ever becoming a famous artist. The show opens Thursday, July 10, at Gallery Flux, with an opening reception from 5-8:30 p.m. Through July 26. galleryflux.com.
