Track 21 - Henley Family Gospel Singers

"John the Revelator"

The Henley Family Gospel Singers have been spreading the good word since 1961, long before the ascension of their famous relative, Michael "D'Angelo" Archer. The names may have changed (no one is named Henley), but the group's guitarist and producer, Marlon Cox, honors their legacy by putting a modern touch on the Southern gospel sound. Witness the family's rendition of "John the Revelator," a stirring version of a gospel favorite that might leave some agnostics unsettled. There's more compelling testimony from the Henley Family Gospel Singers on their first-ever CD, "Done Deal."
