With a name like Anthony Dominick Benedetto, Tony Bennett could have made a nice life for himself as a Goodfella. Fortunately for popular music, Bennett always wanted to be a singer. Catching his big break when Bob Hope caught him on stage in Greenwich Village, Bennett's warm tenor and varying lyrical phrasing has made him an unparalleled figure in vocal standards. Responsible for such unforgettable classics as “I Left My Heart in San Francisco” and “The Way You Look Tonight,” with 15 Grammy wins, including a Lifetime Achievement Award, more than 50 million records sold worldwide, and the kind of clout in lounge cool that rivals Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin, Bennett at age 84 is still doing his thing. The Voice is scheduled to perform at Richmond CenterStage on Friday, Nov. 5, at 8 p.m. $89-$140. 800-745-3000.
