Style Weekly has named a new publisher, Lori Collier Waran, who took over the masthead earlier this month. Waran, 31, replaces Jim Wark, who left to pursue a career as an elementary school teacher. The new position is a promotion for Waran, who has served as the paper's display advertising director since September. Before that, Waran served as general sales manager of Cool Savings magazine, a publication owned by Style's parent company, Landmark Communications.

In addition to stops at Cool Savings and Trader Publishing, Waran also worked in sales and marketing for Spirit Cruises. As publisher, she now oversees daily operations at Style and its ancillary publications.

Waran lives in Hanover County with her husband, Jeff, and two sons, Jackson and Fletcher.
