They Dung it Again

The days when children and adults view the circus in the same way are fading fast. An adult's memories of popcorn, acrobats, tigers and the smell of elephant waste have been supplanted with modern-day concerns of captivity, cruelty and justice. But most children who go to the Richmond Coliseum Feb. 13-18 to see the 138th edition of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus will see it the way their parents might've seen it, as an evening of thrilling performances from animals and people you can't find anywhere else. The clowns and popcorn they'll remember; the dung they'll forget. $15-$85. 262-8100.
