The Virginia Boat Club's Learn-to-Row

When: Mondays, Wednesdays, 6-7:30 p.m. and Saturdays, 7:30-9 p.m. Continues through May 20
The Virginia Boat Club's Learn-To-Row program teaches adults how to sweep row in a rowing shell (four- or eight-person boats with a coxswain). In the class, students will learn the proper rowing technique, as well as parts of the stroke, blade technique as well as rowing terminology and boat safety. Bring water to each to stay hydrated. Form-fitting clothing is best, since baggy clothing can get caught in the sliding seats while rowing. Also wear athletic shoes and sports socks.
