As summer kicks into high gear, R&B music takes over Brown’s Island with a variety of Grammy winners and legends for the Stone Soul Music and Food Festival. Appearing throughout the day are George Clinton and Parliament, Melanie Fiona, Travis Porter, Fabolous, Boyz II Men, V.I.C., Tank, Cash Out, Ruben Studdard, Deitrick Haddon, Dorinda Clark Cole and Byron Cage. That’s not to mention a dozen soul-food restaurants and scores of vendors. In addition, local group Black RVA will perform its popular Richmond rendition of “Wake Up.” Proceeds from the festival will benefit the Make a Wish Foundation of Greater Virginia. The Stone Soul Music and Food Festival will take over Brown’s Island on Saturday, June 2, from noon to 8:30 p.m. $30-$40. kissrichmond.com.
