Using clips from D.W. Griffith's controversial 1915 film "Birth of a Nation," coupled with an original score performed by The Kronos Quartet, DJ Spooky brings his audio-visual presentation "Rebirth of a Nation" to the University of Richmond's Modlin Center Wednesday, March 19, at 7:30 p.m. Spooky applies his DJ techniques to the film, deconstructing the narrative into a stirring social commentary. The show has been wowing crowds internationally and adds to the turntablist's impressive resume, which includes credits on nearly 100 albums. $15-$30. 289-8980 or visit modlin.richmond.edu.
