With Halloween just around the corner, Richmond is getting ready for the gloriously gory, costumed occasion by doing what it does best: throwing another big party. The Scott’s Addition Pumpkin Festival takes over the Boulevard between West Leigh and Broad streets for a family-friendly day of delights Saturday, Oct. 25. There will be locally made, seasonal suds and pumpkin-themed cuisine to consume, earfuls of live music and kids’ activities. To close out the day, there will be outdoor screenings of the Halloween classics “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” and “Monsters Inc.” at the Bon Secours Washington Redskins Training Center. Last year the crowd was massive, so be prepared to park far away and walk — or better yet, bike. The event runs from noon to 6 p.m. Free. scottsadditionpumpkinfestival.com.
