If restaurant marketing has an effect on a city's eating habits, then Jared Golden and Michelle Williams (pictured at The Hard Shell in 2003) have set a standard with their neighborhood holdings: The Hill Café, Europa, Michelle's at Hanover Tavern and the new deLux in the Fan. Their quest has gotten more sophisticated and competitive with experience, and with that influence other owners are paying attention -- if not for the menus, at least for the packaging and design and forward-thinking business plan that attracts the right clientele.
