While Bruce Springsteen's popularity has hardly waned, there's been a resurgence of late. New Jersey's favorite son recently reissued his seminal 1977 album “Darkness On the Edge of Town,” which includes a faux reproduction of Springsteen's studio notes, a companion documentary and archival footage of a three-hour concert filmed in 1978. Also included is a completely remastered version of the “Darkness” album and two discs entitled “The Promise,” containing 21 unreleased songs recorded during the period's session work. For those looking for an even further kick, audiences can look forward to the upcoming appearance of Bruce Springsteen tribute band the Rising. Just as capable of transporting listeners into the periods of the Boss's best creativity, The Rising is scheduled to perform at the National on Friday, Dec. 10, at 7 p.m. $13. 612-1900.
