The Right Man to Drive Progress

John Lewis has the progressive thinking Richmond needs ("Mass Appeal," Cover Story, June 6). Living in a city that's easy to love but slow to change, it was refreshing to read about his optimistic vision for GRTC.

A smartly conceived, optimally functioning transit system can greatly assist in the movement to revitalize our metro region and is a step toward weaning us (Virginia, America, the world) off the car. Richmond has the potential to be a progressive city. It just needs to let thinkers like Lewis do their thing — without the "Richmond-as-usual" crowd standing in the way.
