For one night only, Gallery5 becomes home to a massive collection of hand-printed music gig posters. Produced and curated by artist JP Boneyard, the National Poster Retrospecticus tour features more than 75 of the greatest poster designers in the country. The tour has been making appearances in seven different cities and will stop in Richmond before returning home to an extended show in Boston. Well-known artists such as Aaron Draplin, Daniel Danger, Dan McCarthy and Aesthetic Apparatus — who have designed posters for bands like Modest Mouse, Phish, Wilco and hundreds of others — will showcase their works. The night also features music from Little Master, First Creature and Home Body. The National Poster Retrospecticus tour hits Gallery5 on Saturday, April 20, at 7 p.m. Free. nationalposterretrospecticus.com.
