Part performance and part art sale, the Monster Drawing Rally at 1708 Gallery offers the unique chance to watch dozens of local artists creating art. This battle royal performance and art sale will consist of four one-hour shifts with as many as 16 artists drawing simultaneously per hour. Art lovers can watch the pieces come to life and purchase the completed works for $65 a pop, while children can create pieces of their own at the wall-sized coloring station. Enjoy an afternoon of performance art highlighted by holiday treats, a selection of local beers and a chance to buy a distinctive gift for the art-lover on your gift list. The Monster Drawing Rally takes place at 1708 Gallery on Saturday, Dec. 15, from 12:30-6 p.m. $5. 1708gallery.org.
