Based on a Mexican fable, “The Legend of the Poinsettia” tells the story of a young girl who learns to give from her heart when she delivers weeds to the baby Jesus that turn into beautiful red flowers. The Latin Ballet of Virginia’s production of the legend features the traditional festivities of dance and folk-inspired Christmas music popular in several Latin American countries to tell a holiday story that teaches the spirit of giving with the joy and laughter of traditional festivities. “Legend of the Poinsettia” runs Jan. 10-13 at the Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen. $15-$20. latinballet.com.
