First-Round Judges



Kyle Coble is the community relations manager for Barnes & Noble at Libbie Place.

Nick Cooke is the owner of Black Swan Bookstore on Main Street.

Kerry Day is a local author and freelance writer.

Thom Didato serves as the graduate programs coordinator at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Ruth Erb is the owner of Book People on Granite Avenue.

Elizabeth Morelli is collection development librarian at the Richmond Public Library

Darren Morris is the second-place winner of Style Weekly's 2005 Fiction Contest, and his poems have been published in National Poetry Review" and elsewhere.

Mary Mullins is a second-place winner of the 2004 Style Weekly Fiction Contest and is pursuing her master's degree in creative writing at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Shannon O'Neill is an arts & culture contributor to Style Weekly and works at the Arts Council of Richmond.

Tonya Walker is an instructor of writing and rhetoric at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Gregory Donovan is senior editor of the online journal "Blackbird" (www.blackbird.vcu.edu) and teaches in the graduate creative writing program at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Libby Gruner is an associate professor of English and women, gender and sexuality studies at the University of Richmond.

Kelly Justice manages the Fountain Bookstore in Shockoe Slip and serves on the board of the Southern Independent Booksellers Alliance.

Valley Haggard is Style Weekly's book editor.
