The Intelligence at the Triple

Often sounding like a band playing from the bottom of a well through low-grade analog speakers, Lars Finberg's Seattle-based noise outfit, the Intelligence, take a raucous, distortion-drenched approach to new wave. Clearly a tad out there, even abrasive at times in his eclectic experimentation and avant-garde translations, Finberg's perspective is one of reproach, offering a snarky if not cynical irreverence to modern pop music. Filling '60s surf rock with static and sarcasm on the latest album, “Fake Surfers,” the Intelligence plays the Triple on Saturday, Sept. 19, at 8 p.m. 359-7777. - Mike Hilleary
