Friday, July 6

Despite being named after a funeral home, Charlottesville indie rockers the Hill and Wood have a bright future. Emerging on the local music scene a few years ago, the band delivers acoustic-driven pop-folk songs that are simultaneously entertaining and extravagant. Songs such as “The Call” and “ICSWYW” contain vintage pop sounds wrapped in garage-rock lo-fi that make up a style all their own. The Hill and Wood performs at the Camel on Friday, July 6, at 9:30 p.m. 353-4901.
