After 85 years and 20,000 games, the Harlem Globetrotters have become one of the most recognizable sports franchises in the world. Combining athletics, theatrics and comedy, and armed with a catchy signature song (Brother Bones’ whistled version of “Sweet Georgia Brown,” for those not in the know), the Globetrotters have entertained international audiences with their ridiculous basketball skills and family-friendly games with the long-suffering Washington Generals. Expect the slam dunk, the alley-oop and the three-man weave, as well as some bouncy surprises, when the Globetrotters play the Richmond Coliseum on Thursday, Dec. 29, at 7 p.m. $18-$102. 780-4970.
