The Great White Jenkins at the Camel

Creating a strangely cohesive mix of drowsy psychedelica, vocal gospel harmonies and supporting horns that sound as though they have an independent agenda within each arrangement, the catchy freak-folk of the Great White Jenkins brings to mind the lo-fi recordings of the Band, having tucked themselves away in the basement of a house with no address. In the midst of its national “Mollusks of Immortality Tour,” G.W.J. comes to the Camel with dance-pop headliners Hot Lava and Deleted Scenes at 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 4. 353-4901.
