“The Sexy Treadmill Workout.” “Hospital Clowning.” “Rap Rat.” Gems like these lie hidden in miles of abandoned VHS tape, unseen and unloved until Nick Prueher and Joe Pickett bring them back to the screen. The Found Footage Festival is hosted by Prueher and Pickett, whose credits include the Onion and the “Late Show with David Letterman.” They’ll provide commentary on the odd and hilarious videos they find in America’s garage sales, thrift stores and dumpsters. Some of the clips include a woman with immense enthusiasm for craft sponging, yo-yo pranks, a 1986 video on how to care for your ferret (pictured) and plenty of others. The Found Footage Festival takes place at the Visual Arts Center of Richmond on Saturday, Sept. 8, at 8 p.m. $10. foundfootagefest.com.
