The Faint at the National

The Faint's fourth album, “Fasciinatiion,” produced on its own label, Blank.Wav, feels like the thought process of Skynet at work, featuring all kinds of electro-fuzz beats, new-wave synthetic zaps and distorted vocal delivery. For robot enthusiasts, the stuff is hardly artificial. The band plays the National on Thursday, April 16, at 7 p.m. $18-$21. 612-1900 or www.thenationalva.com.— Mike Hilleary
