For people who grew up reading Batman comic books, clowns should have never been associated with playful entertainment. They're a source of criminal evil and as such should be pummeled with swift, vigilante justice. Be that as it may, these face-painted fools have always found a home under the big top, along with a number of eclectic entertainers including acrobats, aerialists, animal trainers and strongmen. Celebrating the 200th anniversary of P.T. Barnum's birth, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey has hit the road for a showcase of performances. Featuring plenty of death-defying stunts, tigers, elephants and colorful theatrics, the Greatest Show on Earth will make a stop at the Richmond Coliseum on Wednesday, April 7, with shows running through Sunday, April 11.  $16-$86. 800-745-3000.
