Church Hill holds a bit of luck this weekend as the St. Patrick’s Day Parade kicks off its annual Irish Festival. Festivities continue with a four-block street fair in front of St. Patrick’s Church. More than 45 traditional Irish musicians, plus dancers and bagpipers, will perform throughout the weekend alongside local bands, including Uisce Beatha, the Janet Martin Band, the Bart Chucker Band, Tinker’s Dam, Echolalia, Powder Keg, and Haze and the Transients. The festival also features Celtic and Irish crafts, children’s games, traditional Irish food and more. On Sunday, the Hill Topper 5K race will begin and end at the festival. The Church Hill Irish Festival takes place March 23-24 from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. at the intersection of 25th and Broad streets, with a $5 donation requested. churchhillirishfestival.com.
