I know what most of you are thinking: I need more opera and theater in my life. Well, your quiet desperation is about to come to a joyous end. The Castleton Festival an extravaganza of music, theater and opera by budding artistic talents, concludes this weekend in two state-of-the-art theaters built on the grounds of Maestro Lorin Maazel’s Virginia home, Castleton Farms in Castleton, a two-hour drive north of Richmond, just past Culpeper. Featured works include a full production of Verdi’s “Otello,” a symphonic concert of music composed by Benjamin Britten and Peter Tchaikovsky and recitals of various opera scenes by participants in the Castleton Artists Training Seminar.
