Cheeky entertainment for the historically minded, Burlesque-A-Pades takes its comedic teases seriously, putting a premium on good-natured fun. The New York review brings its modern vaudevillian bumps and grinds to Gallery5 on Saturday, July 12. Its star and producer is Miss Exotic World 2008 and the reigning queen of the Big Apple’s neo-burlesque scene, Angie Pontani. But you’ll find plenty of other sauciness in the 90-minute variety show, featuring the Maine Attraction, Minnie Tonka, the infamously alluring Pontani Sisters and Richmond’s own Deanna Danger. Is it bawdy? Yes. Lewd and lascivious? Kinda, but not really. It’s a gratuitous silliness in pasties, proving that making someone laugh is a seduction that never goes out of style. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the show begins at 9. Admission is $12-$17. gallery5arts.org.
