Glave Kocen Gallery opened Sept. 7, 2007 — right around the time the country’s economy took a dive. But with hard work and nonstop creative programming, owners BJ Kocen and Jennifer Glave Kocen have made their space one of the most patronized galleries on Main Street. They celebrate five years with “The Big 5,” an exhibit that features five of the gallery’s most popular artists — Sheep Jones, Steve Hedberg, Ed Trask, Rodger Bechtold and Mark Chatterley — each exhibiting five works of art. The gallery also will launch a Secondary Saturday series, selecting work from private and corporate collections to resell every second Saturday of the month. The first is Sept. 8. “The Big 5” opens at Glave Kocen Gallery with a reception on Friday, Sept. 7, from 6-9 p.m., and continues through Oct. 24. glavekocengallery.com.
