For every external conflict we so often face throughout our lives, there's an equally complicated struggle going on within ourselves, when our established values and understanding are challenged. Bringing such faith-based life lessons to the stage is the annual Acts of Faith Festival. It features such plays as “Othello,” “Buffalo Soldier” and “The Grapes of Wrath,” and includes participating professional theaters Barksdale Theatres at Willow Lawn and Hanover Tavern, the Chamberlayne Actors Theatre, the Firehouse Theatre Project, Richmond Shakespeare, Richmond Triangle Players, Sycamore Rouge and Theatre IV. A special preview performance is scheduled Jan. 15 at 7 p.m. in the Gottwald Playhouse at Richmond CenterStage. With discussions on each company's selected plays as well as brief scenes to give a taste of each production's work in progress, the Acts of Faith preview is free.
