Power is a loaded word. Some people crave it. Others don’t want you to know they have it. And the extent to which power manifests itself depends on the person who holds it.

That’s why we believe it’s important you know: These are the people, for better or worse, who control our community’s resources. The money. The jobs. The influence. The political pull. The formal authority and the informal sway. The star power and the crucial connections.

And if you’re going to hold anyone accountable for anything, here’s where to start.
